Build a rudder that connects to the airboat on the back of the propeller. build a wooden frame that surrounds the propeller, but does not impeded the motor's movement. attach a hinged rudder to it, as well as a small wooden "handle" that reaches to the motor mount.. Well i have quite a collection of weedy motors so time to put them to use i have started on a scratch build flat bottom airboat, i use to have a .40 nitro powered airboat which was loads of fun on water and on land.. Im trying to get a pic on here of a nitro rc airboat we made at home.all you need is a little sheet metal and a boogie board from walmart.we made a small motor stand screwed to a small sheet of sheet metal plate.we used dry wall screws and inserts to hold the stand to the boogie board.a small door hinge for a rutter.servo's mounted to stand.
